Establishing a successful career in real estate is never easy. Even the real estate mogul Rob Thomson of Jupiter would attest to that fact. In fact, many new real estate agents quit their job within two years of being in the industry. Some of them don’t realize that it’s entirely possible to take your real estate career to the next level. With patience, perseverance, and hard work, aspiring real estate agents will eventually get to where they want to be.

According to Thomson, he wouldn’t have been as successful as he is today without the mentorship of his mother, Joan Thomson, an established and successful real estate agent whom Rob still goes to for advice today. With the insights he gained from Joan, he…

Waterfront Way Foundation presented a check in the sum of $20,000 to Place of Hope this Tuesday from Waterfront Way Foundation’s “Cruise For Kids” event in May of this year. This amount was then doubled by Place of Hope’s Emergency Response Matching Fund to bring contributions to $40,000 in support of the non-profit organization.

Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Place of Hope was forced to cancel more than five fundraising events in 2020 to adhere to social distancing regulations, including the “Fish For Hope KDW Tournament”, the “17th Annual Golf Invitational and Charity Dinner”, their “Paradise Found Dinner” at Adams Ranch, and their “Summertime Parties With A Purpose” event. Fundraising events are vital to Place of Hope’s budget…

As we ring in 2020, we reflect on a turbulent year helping our friends at Old Bahama Bay rebuild after Hurricane Dorian. Winner’s Circle Charities was the first organization cleared by the President of OBB to arrive at the docks, and swiftly organized donation drop-off locations, sponsored Costco trips, and secured hundreds of boats to respond to the needs of families and friends in the Bahamas. Rest assured, OBB is back and better than ever! If it wasn’t for the Winner’s Circle Charities Fishing Tournament every year, Winner’s Circle Charities would not have had the immediate resources available to facilitate such a timely response, so thank you so much to all of the teams and sponsors who participate every single year!

“We’re excited to be able…

Evidencing the utility of Waterfront Properties’ brokerage-supplied agent resources, more than a third of its 75 real estate agents were named to 2018’s Captain’s Club. Twenty-seven agents were recognized for having sold $10 million or more as an individual agent, or on average as part of a dedicated sales team. This factors in private sales, the Multiple Listing Service (“MLS”), and referral transactions.

“Data doesn’t lie,” Waterfront Owner Rob Thomson said. “Our model works for every agent willing to buy into and utilize the system. Every year we want to have more Captain’s Club members than the year before.”

Captain’s Club members cited some combination of Waterfront’s resources as fundamental to their impressive year. Principal among those…

Rob Thomson began his real estate training listening from the back of his mother’s car. Today, his company, Waterfront Properties, as well as his other endeavors, stretch from Stuart to Delray—not to mention his philanthropic resume that runs miles long.

What was your introduction to real estate?
ROB THOMSON: My mom was a realtor. As a kid, I sat in the passenger seat of her car, and she was always stopping to talk to somebody. I remember thinking, “I can say a lot of this stuff. I can recite it for her if she gets laryngitis. I’ve heard it so many times.” I didn’t realize at the time that I was getting the education of a lifetime. She still works with us. She’s 86 and teaching me every day.
