Dustin Johnson, the No. 3 golfer in the world, this week paid $14 million for a waterfront home in Jupiter’s exclusive Admirals Cove, a real estate broker confirmed.
Johnson is the new owner of 389 Eagle Dr., a 10,134-square-foot house that has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 110 feet water frontage that can accommodate an 80-foot boat. The property also has a resort-style backyard, covered porch, summer kitchen, infinity pool and spa, fire pit and expanded dock.
The sale is a fast flip for its prior owners, Marcia and William Ulm of Georgia, who paid $12.65 million for the property only six months ago, according to the Palm Beach County Clerk’s Office. The Ulms own MLU Services, an emergency services preparedness company.
Jupiter-based Waterfront Properties represented the seller and buyer of the Eagle Drive home.
On Thursday, Waterfront Owner Rob Thomson confirmed that Johnson bought the house.
Thomson said Johnson liked the Admirals Cove community and considered it a good place for his family. “It’s a great place to live, has a great community with great security, and has phenomenal amenities,” Thomson said.
Johnson is currently ranked No. 3 in the world on the PGA Tour, behind John Rahm and Collin Morikawa.
The 888-home gated Admirals Cove community features a spa, 45 holes of golf, pickleball and tennis courts, a fitness center, two clubhouses, two driving ranges and four restaurants. It also has a marina for mega-yachts, a 30-room hotel atop a clubhouse for guests of members, plus a kids’ club, fitness center and spa.
Residents who buy a home at Admirals Cove must buy a membership in the club, which costs $195,000 to join.
Thomson declined to comment on the Ulms.
Admirals Cove always has been a popular destination for residents who enjoy the water, but during the pandemic, the residential community’s profile rose when several notable figures bought homes.
Among them: Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who in March paid $9.7 million for 494 Mariner Drive, a home along the Intracoastal Waterway. The two-story house is 11,270 square feet and features six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, as well as an elevator and a fireplace, according to Palm Beach County property records and real estate listings.
Johnson and his fiancée Paulina Gretzky, daughter of NHL Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky, partied with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Halloween.
And in January, Rick Rieder, a top executive with New York-based BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management firm, paid $7.25 million for a home at 197 Spyglass Court.
